End User License Agreement

The license Isolation's images, the isolation-server command and the isolation-host software ship under, with the private-host TPM rule.

Version 1.1 — 30 September 2026

This End User License Agreement (the "Agreement") is a legal agreement between you (an individual or the organization you represent, "you") and Isolation Labs S.r.l. ("Isolation", "we"), the provider of the Isolation software, for the programs, images and related materials that Isolation distributes for use with the Isolation Cloud service (the "Software"):

  • the isolation-host host software;
  • the sandbox service (isolation-sandbox) and the helpers that run beside it in a sandbox: isolation-guest, isolation-egress, the iso-boot loader and the isolation-gpucheck check;
  • the preview software that captures and streams a sandbox's screen (iso-preview-x11, iso-preview-win, isolation-preview-android with its iso-android launcher, iso-openh264) and the libraries Isolation builds for it;
  • the container images and machine images Isolation builds from them to run sandboxes — its pod images, the images published under ghcr.io/isolation-labs, and its Linux, Windows and macOS machine images;

and every update to them.

By downloading, installing, running or otherwise using the Software you accept this Agreement. If you do not accept it, do not use the Software.

1. License

Subject to this Agreement, Isolation grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to run the Software on infrastructure you own or control, in unmodified form, for the purpose of connecting that infrastructure to the Isolation Cloud service under an account in good standing.

2. Restrictions

You may not, and may not allow anyone else to:

  • copy, redistribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense or otherwise make the Software available to any third party, except that the images may be pulled from the registry Isolation publishes them to by anyone entitled to use them under this Agreement;
  • modify, adapt, translate or create derivative works of the Software, or of any part of it that is not covered by a third-party license listed in section 4;
  • decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Software, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction;
  • remove or alter any proprietary notice, label or mark on or in the Software;
  • use the Software to build or operate a service that competes with Isolation Cloud, or to provide the Software's functionality to third parties as a service;
  • use the Software other than with the Isolation Cloud service, or in breach of Isolation's terms of service.

3. Ownership

The Software is licensed, not sold. Isolation and its licensors retain every right, title and interest in and to the Software, including all intellectual property rights. Nothing in this Agreement transfers any of them to you.

4. Third-party components

The Software bundles third-party components that are licensed under their own terms — the Apache License 2.0, the MIT License and others. Those terms apply to those components and are made available, together with the required notices, with the Software. Nothing in this Agreement restricts the rights those licenses grant you in those components.

5. Updates

Isolation may publish updates to the Software. Updates are subject to this Agreement unless they come with a different agreement. The Software may check for and apply updates from the release channel it follows.

6. Hosts on your own hardware

When the host software runs on hardware that you own or control as a host of your organization's private infrastructure (an Isolation Enterprise service), that hardware must have a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0, enabled, and the host software must be allowed to use it to hold the host's identity key and to attest that identity when the host enrolls. Isolation may refuse to enroll a host that does not meet this requirement, and may revoke the enrollment of a host that stops meeting it or whose identity it can no longer verify; a host whose enrollment is refused or revoked cannot run sandboxes for the Isolation Cloud service. This requirement is part of every Isolation Enterprise contract.

7. Term and termination

This Agreement is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically, without notice, if you breach any of its terms or if your Isolation Cloud account is closed. On termination you must stop using the Software and delete every copy of it. Sections 2 through 4 and 8 through 10 survive termination.

8. Disclaimer of warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT OR THAT IT WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED. YOU USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ISOLATION WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THIS AGREEMENT, HOWEVER CAUSED. ISOLATION'S TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THIS AGREEMENT WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID ISOLATION FOR THE ISOLATION CLOUD SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

10. General

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Italy, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. This Agreement is the entire agreement between you and Isolation about the Software and supersedes any prior agreement about it. Isolation may update this Agreement for future versions of the Software; the version that ships with a copy of the Software governs that copy.
